Honda Hornet 600 2011

Bestseller motorcycle market for many seasons, the latest version of the Honda CB600F Hornet, launched in 2007, failed to collect the sales success that was expected. Ironically, the last Hornet 600 placed on the market was the best of all, thanks to a new engine, derived from the CBR600RR the same year, and a chassis really to the point, but it did not have a well-deserved commercial success. Much of the low public acceptance, in our view, it is derived from upstream of codon look too, which did not meet the favor of customers, loyal to the flowing lines and slender, pointed upward, while the tail of the Hornet, was aimed inexorably downward.

The new 2011 version of the Hornet, presented at EICMA 2010, stands out for its modern and sporty look. The single tank was unchanged, while the head lamp now has a more streamlined and compact design that integrates the instrumentation has also been completely renovated. The 2011 Hornet was distinctive due to the new sleek and slender tail upwards, which accentuates the sporting image of the vehicle. After all, the design of the latter is undoubtedly more conservative than before, but many will agree in saying that, at this historical moment, the market is not that good inclined to accept flights of fancy, and so it is best to focus on forms perhaps less personal but can better accommodate the tastes of a broad audience.

To help propel the look of the rear, the passenger door handles are now integrated in the tail. The new headlight / fairing is surrounded by two side profiles that evoke the wing and increase the Honda family feeling with the CB1000R. The projector is now in double rather than single dish, and it is placed under the position lamp shaped like a V. The technical basis of the Hornet 2011 is unchanged, then we find the known 566 cm3 engine capable of delivering 102 hp, the well-known single-beam frame Alloy adjustable suspension and introduced the 2009 model year. Both the front to the rear which, in fact, you can adjust the spring preload and rebound damping.

Three colors are planned for 2011: Sprint Pearl and Yellow Pearl Cool White added that the inevitable Nightstar Black Pearl.

MotoGP 125: Indian manufacturer plans 2011 entry

Mahindra and Mahindra to enter 125cc World Championship?

The final year of the 125cc World Championship could feature a new manufacturer, with Indian brand Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) planning a 2011 entry.
This category [125cc] is relevant to people in India as the bulk of the bikes [sold here] are in the 110cc and 125cc," siliconindia.com quotes Anand Mahindra, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra group as saying.

"The advertising in the recent Football World Cup [for the group's technology arm Mahindra Satyam] made us understand the power of global branding and benefited the group.

"So this is an interesting sequential chapter to our global branding effort."

A formal announcement on M&M's 125cc grand prix plans should be made "shortly".

India will host its first F1 race next October and there are rumours that the country could join the MotoGP calendar.

Five manufacturers scored points in this year's 125cc World Championship: Derbi and Aprilia (both owned by Piaggio), Honda, KTM and Lambretta.

A new four-stroke Moto3 class will replace 125cc from 2012.

Carmelo Ezpeleta : Singapore is expected to enter MotoGP in 2012

Singapore has won the entire automotive world with the organization of the Formula 1 Grand Prix since 2008. The city-state now seeks to organize a Grand Prix MotoGP and for that they've got a circuit permamente called Changi Motorsports in honor of the financial group that has taken over the works.

Carmelo Ezpeleta has visited a circuit that has cost more than $ 250 million and sees little reason for this GP can not already be in calendar 2012. The circuit is not the same in the running of Formula 1 and it is unclear whether it will follow the fashion of Qatar to run at night. Are new times since then and at least hope that these new routes not move from programming to some historical circuits as has happened with all four wheels.

Carmelo Ezpeleta," I'm happy to say that things are going well for us to go to Singapore. When the FIM approved safety circuit we can start talking to the owners of it and when you could organize the first race."

BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles at EICMA 2010

As of Sept. 2010, BMW Motorrad sales have exceeded those of 2009 by 17 %. To date they have delivered over 81,500 motorcycles to customers worldwide.

Growth has come from the S 1000 RR; the shooting star of the season. BMW Motorrad has managed at first-go to conquer second place in the segment and may be on the way to becoming the world's top-selling superbike.

The new BMW K 1600 GT and the K 1600 GTL are innovative six-cylinder touring bikes that may be a start of another motorcycle model offensive from German motorcycle company.

The new entry-level model from BMW Motorrad is the G 650 GS. In an attractive enduro design, the G 650 GS continues the success story of BMW's single-cylinder bikes.

The new DOHC Boxer engine, which was first presented at EICMA 2009, is now also available on the new 2011 BMW R 1200 R and Classic.

The R 1200 R Classic, with its exclusive features and the traditional color concept in black and white, is targeted fully at up-market motorcyclists who enjoy classic roadsters.

Earlier than this, BMW unveiled a R 1200 GS that is virtually all black. The world's top-selling motorcycle can now be ordered as "Triple Black" special edition motorcycle that will be ready to be delivered as of January.

Apart from the standard spoke wheels, the "Triple Black" technically corresponds to the R 1200 GS. Its exclusive color scheme serves to emphasize the masculine touch of this large touring enduro.

The BMW Motorrad Concept C scooter provided a concrete look at the next generation of big scooters. The "C" stands for "Commuter" and indicates the primary field of use in urban areas.

The Mille 3 is a highly emotional concept bike from Husqvarna. It attempts to show that Husqvarna can do far more than develop excellent off-road motorcycles.

In the years to come, BMW intends to substantially boost sales of BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles.

The plan is to position new models that appeal to a broader audience and they will be entering motorcycle segments in which BMW Motorrad or Husqvarna were they have not historically played.

The Estoril in action.

Here's an official FIM YouTube video highlighting the 2010 Estoril MotoGP that occurred on Sunday, Oct. 31.
The winner was this year's MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo; the Fiat Yamaha rider took the lead with 12 laps out of 28 to go, and wasn't challenged again. It was the MotoGP Champ's eight win of the 2010 season, and his third conescuvtive win at Estoril.

Joining Lorenzo on the podium were his teammate Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso.

One rider didn't start on Sunday, Monster Tech 3 Yamaha rider Ben Spies. The Texan, who clinched the 2010 MotoGP Rookie of the Year award last round in Australia, went down during the sighting lap, and dislocated his left ankle.

It is uncertain if Spies will race at the final MotoGP round in Valencia; something official should be released soon.

Sunday was the driest day of the race weekend. Riders encountered much rain during the practice and qualifying sessions, which created problems with tuning the bikes and tire choices.

There were also three other DNFs: Pramac Racing Ducati rider Aleix Espargaro crashed out on lap one; Ducati Team rider Casey Stoner lost his back end on Turn 13; and the World Superbike rider substituting for Mika Kallio on the other Pramac Ducati coasted into the paddock with 15 laps to go due to arm pump problems

Stoner's crash came from lack of grip on his Ducati GP10. The MotoGP teams didn't have much time to tweak suspension settings due to the track being soaking wet on Friday and Saturday. Also, the track was still a bit damp on Sunday.

The final round of the 2010 MotoGP Championship occurs in Valencia, Spain, this weekend. The big battle will be for second-place, as Rossi has shortened the lead of the man currently in second place, Repsol Honda Dani Pedrosa, to 19 points.
